Event Overview

On behalf of the event coordinator team, we would like to thank everyone for coming down to LAN-slide V9.0! With over 120 gamers, the place was packed with plenty of action. It was great to see over 6 teams entering each of the 3 main comps and much fierce competition in the Free For All comps. It was also great to see all of the hoodies being worn! We hope to be able to provide hoodies again in the future.

We apologise for the delays in the CS:GO tournament, which resulted to a delay in the LoL tournament. Unfortunately a number of CS:GO players had computer issues and coke was spilt over 3 tables. We will personally be following up with each of these incidents and looking at ways we can improve it for future events.

We can't put this event on without the great support of our sponsors. SteelSeries provided so many prizes we lost track. They set up a display at the event and continue be generally awesome. Valve sent us so much swag, we were still handing it out till early hours of Sunday morning. Red Bull generously provided free sampling to keep the gamers energised. Plantronics Gaming gave us awesome RIG headsets for the DotA 2 comp. PLE Computers provided awesome gift packs and exclusive online discount codes (which are still valid). GIGABYTE provided an awesome gaming motherboard. Riot Games continue to support the event with RP prizes, unique skins and swag during the event. Gamestah (KitFox), Jakeey and Karath provided awesome shoutcasting for LoL and CS:GO.

As we announced during the event, there is a very real possibility that we will be moving venue in 2015. At this stage, there are numerous issues we face continuing to host at Melbourne PC User Group notwithstanding the capacity issue. We will keep everyone informed during the transition and look forward to seeing you all for our first event for 2015 in January.
