Fortnite Competition Details

Overview

LAN-slide is running 3 official Fortnite tournaments this event. All these tournaments will be prized, with the hope to award the top 2 places. This includes:
  • Saturday, 12:00PM - Duos
  • Saturday, 6:00PM - Solos
  • Saturday, 8:30PM - Solos

As we have access to custom servers, we will be running unofficial tournaments throughout the day.

Do I need to bring my own setup

Yes, as this is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN party, you need to bring your own equipment. For most people, this would include a PC, monitor, peripherals and cables. For console players, this might include a console, monitor, controllers and cables.

Is wireless available?

LAN-slide will have Wi-Fi available, but we cannot guarantee it will be reliable; we strongly recommend using a wired (ethernet) connection. On some laptops and the Nintendo Switch you may need a converter to allow you to plug in an ethernet cable.

What am I provided with?

You are provided table space (90cm), a network cable and 2 power sockets. We recommend on all devices you use the provided network cable. You may need a converter on some devices to ensure you can plug in the provided network cable.
The wireless can become quite congested, so we recommend against trying to use the wireless hotspot.

How much does it cost to enter the tournament?

It costs $30 for the entire event. This includes access to all the 20+ tournaments, not just Fortnite.

Can I play on my PS4/Switch/XBOX or mobile phone?

We believe so. As long as you can join custom games on your device, you should be able to enter the tournament. At this stage we have tested the Nintendo Switch and the android app and both seem to have the ability to join custom games.

Can I join remotely from home?

No, to enter all the tournaments at LAN-slide you must be present at the event. To be fair to the people that attend in person, we can't allow people joining online.

How long does the event run for?

The event starts from 10:00AM, Saturday Jan 12 and finishes around 8:00AM, Sunday Jan 13. However, most of the tournaments are scheduled for the Saturday. For a full list of tournaments, you can visit this page: https://events.lanslide.com.au/v25/schedule/.

Where is the event?

The event is hosted in Aspendale Gardens (South East Melbourne). For more information, you can visit this page: https://events.lanslide.com.au/v25/how-to-get-there/.

Is there any age restrictions?

No, LAN-slide is an all age event. However, it's a good idea to bring friends along to make your day more enjoyable.

Can I prebook seats?

Yes! Seat bookings are now open. Please visit this page for more information: https://events.lanslide.com.au/v25/seat-bookings/.

Do I have to prepay?

Prepaying for the event is generally optional (unless required for a seat booking). Most people choose to pay cash or card on the day.
